First Step Day Care is licensed to accept children between the ages of zero to five years of age. Our curriculum focuses on the cognitive, language, physical, social, and emotional development of each child.
Our home is equipped with materials that enhance imagination and socialization. We first started in San Diego in 2010 and relocated to Fresno in 2020. It has been rewarding to continue to build an amazing relationship with families in Fresno.
We believe that LOVE is the most important thing a child needs. That’s why at First Step Day Care, every child is nurtured with loving care, in a safe and healthy environment. DISCIPLINE is very important as well, and we’ve learned how to teach it effectively. Instead of saying no all the time, we allow children to make their own choices and encourage them to make the right ones. Our discipline methodology is restricted and positive reinforcement.
We welcome children of all races, colors, nationalities, and religious origins. We believe a wide variety of backgrounds will enrich our school. Mrs. Pati and Mrs. Carla are from Brazil and we do speak Portuguese around the children. Researches show that been exposed to a second language at an early age boosts problem-solving, critical thinking, and listening skills, in addition to improving memory, concentration, and the ability to multitask.
Mrs. Patricia (Daycare director) has a Master's degree in Child Development from Fresno State University. Mrs. Carla has a child development degree from Brazil.
